The throat chakra is located in the middle of the throat. It is represented by the colour blue. Vishdudi governs our speech and freedom of self-expression. It provides us with the ability to express ourselves freely and clearly, being comfortable to say what we think and feel with clarity and confidence. When this chakra is balanced, our speech flows freely and we are able to express our views in a healthy way. With a balanced throat chakra, we are aware of the importance to live in the present, and able to let things go, without judgement or attachment. Therefore we let go of the past without dwelling on things or holding grudges.
When in balance:
We can communicate clearly
Expressing ourselves freely and clearly vocally
Being aware of the present moment without looking to the past or future
Expressing and vocalising our ideas with confidence and claritY
Speaking the truth, being honest
Ability to completely listen to others without the need to interrupt them
Creativity in writing, speaking and art/drawing, painting
When out of balance:
Inability to express ourselves freely
Holding our ideas inside
Fearful of being judged
Shyness/inability to speak our truth
Inability to listen to others
Speaking too fast or too slow
Physical manifestations of imbalance:
Pain and tension in the neck area
I communicate openly with others.
I express my ideas to the world in a clear, confident matter.
