MULADHARA CHAKRA

The root chakra is the first chakra, situated at the base of the spine. It is represented by the colour red. Muladhara governs our sense of security in the world and how stable we feel in the world. It focuses on the notion of survival and basic needs being met such as having a roof over our head/shelter, food, money, clothes to protect us from different climate conditions and the overall foundation we build for ourselves to feel balanced. Muladhara brings awareness to the balance on our feet which then brings the whole body into a state of equilibrium. A person who has a balanced root chakra will be able to keep both feet on the ground when sitting down, and when standing they have an equal balance on both legs. When we feel a strong sense of connection with Muladhara chakra, we feel grounded. This chakra also refers to our connection with the physical world with complete awareness that we have the right to be here.
